Monster Man on the loose

The artist and the monster

advertisement

Here is political neutral article -- A palate cleanser of sorts before we get back to the chore of correcting the ills of the world. I seeded an link several months ago about an urban artist that made "monsters" out of traffic cones. Here is a link to the original article.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31395158/

He was arrested even though the construction company he "appropriated" the cones from thought his art was great and wanted him to make more. I guess he has been released although I can't find anything on the outcome of his case. His website was taken down for a while but seems like it is back up again and is very interesting. This young man and his friends seem to know how to live life (even if they "bend" the law at times). Some of the exploits they pull off are down right scary but no more so than skydiving or a lot of Xgame events. My friends and I did "urban exploring" long before there was an internet and we had a blast, too bad we were not artists -- but they called pictures evidence back then. I know a lot of people will not agree that what they do is harmless but it certainly interesting and the art is fun. I thought some might enjoy a few pictures of the "monsters".

His art has lots of fans -- including me and he has a "monster" for sale .

I bet the neighbors would love me even more than they already do if I put this thing on the front lawn -- I guess I should be far away from neighbors, huh? I wonder if my Ebay account is still working -- Hmmmmmm.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

These monsters are attention getters -- I would definitely slow down in that construction site if for no other reason than to look at the monster.
