Nasa's moon landing conspiracy smack-down

advertisement

Conspiracy theorists who believe Michael Jackson was an alien and that the moon landing was a staged hoax set in a secret Hollywood studio may soon have to invent entire new wacko theories.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I don't know -- sending NASA to prove we landed there -- Another conspiracy to discuss -- LOL

And this will prove that men were on the moon 40 years ago exactly how?

Well -- I'm not sure, unless they find the golf clubs and other trash that was left there - Still not sure how to prove that Michael Jackson was not an alien though.

I would really like them to look further into the "artifacts" we keep seeing on the Mars probe pictures. Ya think they could all be "tricks of light" or fuzzy pictures of rocks?

Um, no. And humans haven't c;aime dot have been there. That I know of. :~)

I checked the resolution of the LRO a few days ago, we should be able to see the lower section of the lunar lander left behind at each site.

okay so I was a little tipsy when I wrote that.

It should say:

And humans haven't claimed to have been there

We should be able to see the bottom part of the lunar modules and the American flag (with the wires in it to produce the permanent wave).

Living in the area where the lunar modules were built; and having lived through Apollo 13, when the command module had an electrical failure and the lunar module was the "lifeboat" that saved our astronauts; I really have no doubt that our astronauts actually were on the moon, but if people want to believe otherwise it is fine with me.

If the resolution was as the article stated ... 1 pixel per meter ... and the lunar lander descent stage is 9 meters wide, that would be 81 pixels to image the stage. More than enough.

But certainly not enough to see flags or golf clubs. We might be able to distinguish the lunar rovers as well.

The thing is, even if we see all of the things you guys mention - that doesn't prove humans were there. Hell, even boot prints could be faked.

All objects could have been placed via probes and robotics.

Hmmm. Wouldn't the level of technology required to create these fakes surpass that of what was available during the Apollo missions themselves? Just a thought.

No, we sent unmanned probes there a few times before the Apollo manned missions.

But even if it did, so what? They could place them now, photograph them and tell us they've been there all along. How would we know the diff?

I remember reading somewhere The Van Allen radiation belt would have killed the astronauts, not immediately but would develop problems shortly after returning home.

    Yep.

It would be like having a continuous Cat Scan for 4 hours and then another for 4 hours on the way back. They didn't have lead protection and that is still the only thing that protects against radiation. None of those astronauts even became sick.

They did not go to the moon. Unless they aren't biological to begin with ;~)

I would be looking for donations to help send me to the moon so I can allow you all to know the truth. I will take Nearings ex with me and leave him there so we can see if the Hubble can get a pic of him Would that be sufficient?

Do I have to pay taxes if I stay on the moon?
