Following its amazing success at Isle of Man, the TTxGP motorcycle green grand prix prepares for its debut in the United States with an open call to American "eMoto" entrepreneurs.
The invitation to join the tour during the AMA vintage sports events from July 24th to 26th at Mid-Ohio racetrack is to show the public how real the change is.
Too bad there are no races out West yet -- I would love to see these guys race.
I used to race Flat Track 20 + years ago... I got a sweet 89 Honda VTR 250 I might consider entering. I just restored it last year and can out run and out corner the newer crotch rockets.
Hi Mike -- that old Honda of yours is a sweet bike. These guys race electric bikes in this class and I guess they completed a circuit at Isle of Man a few months ago at over 80mph. Not too shabby for these first gen electric racers.
Ummm ... I wondered what the 'Green' and 'e' meant. Now I know! So now I gotta build me one. I got the plans awhile back from instructables.com to convert a factory gasoline powered sport bike into an electric powered one. Now all I need is the bike. Craigslist, here I come!
Great idea -- An electric motor and a WHOLE BUNCH of Skill Drill batteries and you are in business -- LOL I'm collecting parts to convert an old 57 MGA that is rusting away in the back yard to electric. Dont know if I will be able to afford the L.I. batteries when I'm done but what the heck, I'm having fun.
